Marcus Ryan – Walk this Qué – Review

Posted by & filed under REVIEWS, Theatre.

What would possess someone to walk the Camino de Santiago? If you want an answer to that question, you probably shouldn’t ask Marcus Ryan. He can tell you the multiple reasons why others do it, from religion to fitness, to sprinkling their loved one’s ashes.

But it’s okay that Ryan doesn’t answer the question, because he is a charming storyteller and does quite a good impression or two. His timing is natural and he is quite comfortable, pulling together a story filled with jokes and funny quips. It’s an enjoyable hour at Gravity, a compelling story punctuated with humour.

Ryan’s narrative is accompanied with photos projected on the wall because Ryan did walk over 1000 km across Spain. And the audience is still wondering why.

Marcus Ryan – Walk this Qué is part of the Calgary Fringe Festival and plays 2 more times and will be part of the Edmonton Fringe Festival. More information is available online.
